Braum’s ice cream gets sweeter with mobile apps

Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Stores, a family-owned operation centered on a 10,000-acre farm and supplying 280 stores across Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas, needed to free managers and maintenance staff from paper and PC-bound workflows. Area and district managers could only view critical back-office sales and performance reports from store or corporate PCs, and maintenance crews tracked parts on paper—causing slow decision-making, data-entry delays and extra trips to replenish inventory.

Braum’s adopted the LANSA platform to rapidly build native iOS and Android apps that put real-time reports and notifications in managers’ hands and replaced the paper-based maintenance inventory process. The mobile solution eliminated end-of-month data entry, enabled automatic truck replenishment and real-time parts transfers, consolidated three regional warehouses into one, reduced overhead and significantly improved responsiveness and repair times.
