A LANSA Case Study
Boddie-Noell Enterprises (BNE) is a family‑owned operator of more than 380 restaurants across five brands. Facing inflexible, non‑Y2K‑compliant mainframe COBOL/RPG systems that required IT intervention for routine changes and limited reporting, BNE needed a modern, single development approach to support growth and give users more control.
BNE redeveloped its systems using Visual LANSA Framework, creating a table‑driven, Outlook‑style interface that integrates POS and financial systems, nightly data polling, a central Unit Master, and automated vendor invoice matching. The solution cut manual work, improved accuracy and exception reporting, sped vendor payments, and let the company manage hundreds of restaurants with a small accounting team while enabling easy roll‑out of new brands and planned web self‑service.
