Beacon Insurance, one of the Caribbean’s leading insurers headquartered in Trinidad, set out to become the regional market leader through technological innovation. Its core Insure/90 system lacked workflow and cross-division visibility, and replacing it was judged too risky and costly — while Beacon wanted to open its IT systems to customers and partners and provide mobile and web access to policies, quotes and claims.
Beacon partnered with LANSA Professional Services to modernize and integrate its core LOB using LANSA’s low-code platform, workflow engine and integrator, delivering the AboutYou web portal and Beacon Buddy mobile app (including the popular Beacon Rescue accident feature). The rollout streamlined multi-divisional workflows, gave staff a 360-degree customer view, improved service times and accountability, supported rapid growth (business nearly doubled with only modest headcount increases) and positioned Beacon as the first Caribbean insurer to offer mobile portfolio access.
