Bas Insurance Gives Travelers the All Clear With Lansa

BAS Insurance Services (BIS) is a UK specialist insurer best known for its AllClear Travel product, which insures customers regardless of age or medical condition. Faced with a complex medical-screening logic, high call-center load and a need to scale quickly without replicating back-end systems, BIS wanted to take AllClear online and offer branded, white‑label sites for partner insurers while keeping reliability and security on its existing IBM iSeries platform.

BIS used LANSA to web-enable its iSeries/RPG logic, launching the first online AllClear site in two months and making re‑branding straightforward—new partners can be live in days. The solution lets partners manage policies via BIS’s server, supports additional products and member-benefit sites, and has enabled BIS to host ~20 branded travel sites and 10 benefit schemes, generate ~20,000 policies and 200,000 medical screenings annually, reduce per‑policy costs and grow volume while keeping a lean five‑person IT team.
