Green Tourism worked with The Lane Agency to improve engagement for its Northern Ireland sustainable tourism sites, which were underperforming despite the region’s importance to local jobs and the growing appeal of eco-friendly travel. The challenge was to make the Green Tourism message more compelling and encourage visitors to stay on the site longer and consider booking a trip.
The Lane Agency delivered a content marketing campaign built around a joined-up media strategy, using the website, social media, e-campaigns, an app, and posters to promote themes like food and drink, nature, relaxation, heritage, and myths and legends. The campaign increased site visits from 4,000 to 22,000 per month across a three-month period, added more than 5,000 names to the database, boosted Facebook likes by 525%, and increased average website session duration by over 80%.
