Border Biscuits worked with The Lane Agency to help grow the brand beyond its traditional market and support ambitious plans to double in size within five years by increasing sales south of the border. The challenge was to create standout media activity for the launch of new Border Biscuiter characters and reach discerning “savvy treaters” — ABC1 women aged 45+ looking for a premium biscuit treat.
The Lane Agency delivered an integrated media campaign using TV as the lead channel, supported by national press, VOD, supermarket posters, paid social and trade media. The campaign achieved the highest prompted advertising recall of all biscuit brands tracked, lifted spontaneous brand awareness by 6%, matched McVitie’s spontaneous ad recall despite a much smaller budget, and helped increase South-of-the-Border distribution points by 12.6% year on year.
