A Lamar Advertising Company Case Study
La Phil, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, needed to build awareness around a major leadership change as Gustavo Dudamel replaced Esa-Pekka Salonen, while also reaching affluent classical-music audiences and LA’s Hispanic community. Lamar Advertising Company supported the campaign with a targeted out-of-home media plan, using digital and static billboards, transit shelters, bus fullbacks, and bus tails across key Los Angeles neighborhoods.
Lamar Advertising Company delivered a high-visibility campaign featuring colorful creative executions on five digital bulletins, additional static billboards, upscale transit shelters, and bus ads placed in affluent, high-traffic areas. The effort helped make the 2009–10 season the LA Phil’s biggest marketing initiative since Walt Disney Concert Hall opened and drove an overwhelmingly positive response to Dudamel, with the orchestra crediting the outdoor campaign as instrumental in making him part of the fabric of Los Angeles.
