I-M Technology, founded in 2003 in Taftville, CT, moved from break‑fix work to a managed services model with a goal of scaling by adding clients rather than headcount. The company faced the challenge of enforcing device and service standards, convincing customers to adopt managed services (sometimes having to turn away or fire noncompliant clients), and protecting margins while diversifying offerings.

To address this, I-M standardized its service stack, automated key processes and remote monitoring with LabTech RMM, and launched HaaS/IaaS offerings while using peer accountability to stay focused. The approach let them grow profitably without proportional staff increases: they now effectively manage 269 machines with LabTech and other automation tools and have secured higher‑value, more sustainable contracts.
