Midcontinent Communications Implements a Multi-Channel E-Billing and E-Payment Platform

Midcontinent Communications (Midco), a broadband, TV, and phone provider serving more than 250,000 residential and business customers across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota, needed a single vendor to manage its online commerce processes. The company’s requirements included multiple e-billing channels, one-time non-enrolled payments, inbound payment consolidation, legacy EFT processing, and a payment gateway for online advertising, along with deep portal integration and support for existing print-file workflows. KUBRA’s iDoxs Suite was selected to meet these needs.

KUBRA implemented the KUBRA iDoxs Suite, including Biller-Direct, Consolidator, Payment, Marketing, EFT, and Lockbox modules, with customized single sign-on, real-time payment validation, and integration with Midco’s legacy systems and consolidator networks. The solution went live in June 2006 and helped Midco reach a 26% e-billing adoption rate by May 2011, process more than 125,000 e-payments per month, improve reconciliation and payment tracking, reduce call center traffic, and lower paper billing and settlement costs through stronger paperless adoption.
