SaskPower, Saskatchewan’s principal electric utility, needed a better way to handle streetlight outage reports after customer experience scores for repairs came in very low. Customers struggled with address-based forms and long wait times, while manual processing and duplicate reports made the repair process inefficient. SaskPower turned to KUBRA and its StreetLight Outages solution to improve the reporting experience.
KUBRA implemented a mobile-friendly, map-based streetlight outage reporting system that lets customers drop a GPS pin on the exact outage location and routes reports directly into SaskPower’s task management system. The solution eliminated many duplicate reports, helped technicians work more efficiently, and expanded to a province-wide collaboration with other streetlight providers. Since launch, SaskPower saw a 23% increase in known streetlight reports, a 6% increase in streetlights completed within the 7-day target, and a drop in manually processed reports from 100% to 41%.
