Fort Collins Utilities, the City of Fort Collins’ provider of electricity, water, and wastewater services, needed an e-bill solution that would require no changes to its CIS system and be easy to deploy. The utility also wanted to quickly reduce paper billing, meet aggressive adoption goals, and offer fee-based credit and debit card payments through a single vendor. It selected KUBRA for its utility experience and solution set, including KUBRA iDoxs® Suite and KUBRA EZ-PAY®.
KUBRA implemented a comprehensive e-billing and self-service platform with online bill view, integrated payment processing, internal document management, call center access, and e-bill distribution through bank consolidator networks, plus on-demand payments in the web and call center. The results were strong: Fort Collins Utilities reached 10% paperless adoption in 10 months, 14.7% in 18 months, 22.4% in 24 months, and surpassed 30% by 31 months, ultimately achieving more than 40% paperless billing in three years while reducing call center activity and increasing online channel usage.
