Peter Johnson Group-work with Peer Review for Content Retention

Fordham University professor Peter Johnson sought to enhance student engagement and improve the quality of peer feedback in his marketing courses, where students were reluctant to give honest, constructive critiques. He implemented the Kritik platform to manage peer assessment for short written group assignments.

Using Kritik, Johnson designed activities where half the grade was based on giving detailed, anonymous feedback, incentivizing students to be more rigorous and honest. The platform also pushed him to create clearer rubrics. The result was a significant improvement in the quality of feedback and student submissions, along with increased classroom engagement and a more collaborative learning environment, all achieved while reducing the professor's grading burden. Kritik facilitated this effective shift in learning dynamics.
