Oakland University - Customer Case Study

Professor Francine Guice, a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration at Oakland University, faced a challenge with student engagement and critical thinking in her courses. She identified a problem of "dittoism," where students would simply copy information from readings rather than engaging critically with the material. Seeking to move away from this and improve class discussions, she incorporated peer learning through the Kritik platform.

Using Kritik's peer assessment platform, which structures learning around creation, evaluation, and feedback stages, students developed a more critical mindset. The solution empowered students to take initiative, evaluate their peers, and better apply knowledge to real-world situations. Professor Guice measured success through a steady progression in student grades over time, noting significant improvements in performance, critical thinking skills, and overall engagement with the course material as a direct result of implementing Kritik.
