A Kritik Case Study
A math professor at McMaster University faced the challenge of identifying students with a natural talent for mathematics early in their undergraduate careers. To find these students and provide them with the right resources, he launched a pilot first-year calculus proofs class.
Using Kritik's peer assessment platform, the professor had students evaluate each other's proofs. He identified two top-performing first-year students who demonstrated a deep understanding by providing high-quality feedback. These students were then invited to enroll in a senior-level course, where they remarkably received the two highest grades. The success of the pilot led enrollment in the first-year course to double, and Kritik proved instrumental in uncovering student talent and developing crucial soft skills.
