Tokyo Gas, a major supplier of gas and electricity in Japan, sought to expand its nationwide electricity retail business. To accomplish this, it established a joint venture, TG Octopus Energy, and selected the Kraken platform to provide the digital foundation to support this rapid growth.

Leveraging the Kraken platform, the joint venture was able to deploy new products and integrate operations at an accelerated pace. Within just six months, they successfully launched a new time-of-use electricity tariff, integrated with 10 transmission system operators to go nationwide, and migrated approximately 20,000 acquired customers onto the Kraken platform.
