How Nomad grew email marketing revenue from 2% to 20% of total revenue using Klaviyo

Nomad is a consumer tech company that began as a 2012 Kickstarter for a portable phone charger and now sells a range of accessories via a Shopify Plus store. Facing low-impact, “spray-and-pray” email efforts and limited revenue from email (about 2% of total), Nomad needed a more targeted way to engage customers and drive sales.

Using Klaviyo, Nomad built advanced, behavior- and location-based segments for campaigns and follow-ups, synced those segments dynamically with Facebook Custom and Lookalike Audiences, and leveraged one-click Shopify integration and one-time coupon codes. The result: email marketing grew to ~20% of total revenue, a 63% increase in email-driven sales, a 14.6× ROI, higher open rates (34% initial / 63% on follow-ups) and follow-up emails that accounted for 35% of new product sales.
