How GhostBed’s SMS Strategy Achieved Immediate Results

GhostBed, a direct-to-consumer mattress and bedding company, needed a marketing automation platform that could scale with growth and unify email and SMS while providing better customer data and personalization. Their previous provider lacked testing, segmentation, and visibility into customer behavior, limiting their ability to optimize automations and drive revenue.

By switching to Klaviyo, GhostBed implemented two targeted pop-up forms (one for existing email subscribers, one for new visitors) offering 25% off plus two free pillows, then funneled new contacts into a multi-channel welcome series with an immediate SMS containing the discount. The program collected about 4,200 SMS subscribers (3.8% signup rate), generated $44,105 in the first two weeks, and the SMS welcome flow produced $77,600 with a 32% click rate, 2.5% order rate and over 200x ROI, while enabling better channel preference targeting.
