Buoy grows SMS revenue 5x YoY with Klaviyo B2C CRM

Buoy, the electrolytes brand that sells a la carte and through subscriptions, wanted to keep accelerating growth even though its email and paid acquisition funnel was already performing well. After trying SMS on a separate platform in the past, the team needed a better way to add text messaging without oversending or running into support and syncing issues. They turned to Klaviyo, using Klaviyo B2C CRM and Klaviyo SMS to bring email and SMS into one system.

Klaviyo helped Buoy coordinate email and SMS, personalize messages by subscriber status, and build smarter automations and real-time segments. The results were strong: SMS revenue grew 5x+ YoY, Klaviyo-attributed revenue rose 178% YoY, and SMS revenue per recipient increased 104% YoY. On Black Friday 2024, SMS drove more than half of Buoy’s Klaviyo-attributed revenue, and total ecommerce revenue grew 9x.
