A Kirona Case Study
South Gloucestershire Council, which serves around 270,000 residents, needed to maintain frontline service levels despite significant spending cuts and identified its StreetCare (Street Scene) operations as a priority for transformation. To replace paper-based processes and slow manual job allocation, the council partnered with Kirona and adopted Kirona’s Job Manager to provide automated scheduling and mobile working for field teams.
Kirona implemented job‑scheduling software and a mobile application for about 90 field workers, enabling supervisors to “manage by exception,” push tasks straight to devices, capture photos/GPS, and update office systems in real time. The Kirona solution increased productivity (around a 25% uplift), raised time spent on core tasks from c.80–85% to over 95%, increased jobs per team from 11 to 15, cut response times from 7 to 3 days, and saved approximately £500,000 per year.
