Maplin, the UK's number one specialist technology retailer, faced inefficiencies in booking and delivering in-home Smart Home Surveys and relied on paper-based processes. To address this, Maplin partnered with Kirona and deployed Kirona’s cloud-based Dynamic Resource Scheduler and Mobile Workforce Management solutions (Job Manager Mobile and Job Manager Control Centre) to streamline online booking and reduce wasted travel time.
Kirona integrated a scheduling platform that lets customers request free Smart Home Surveys directly on Maplin’s site with real-time optimisation of appointments by availability and required skills, and replaced paper forms with the Kirona Job Manager Mobile app so surveyors capture data in-app. The result was streamlined bookings without leaving the website, real-time visibility for planners, improved surveyor efficiency and a dramatic reduction in paper use, with plans to roll the Kirona solution out across Maplin’s 200+ stores.
