Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland wanted a best-in-class extended‑enterprise training platform to engage retailer and operator staff selling Samsung products. Kineo (a City & Guilds Group business), working with iris Worldwide, was tasked with creating a unified, fully responsive, multi‑device learning environment that would build ongoing trade engagement, reward users, improve analytics/ROI and deliver a strong brand experience.

Kineo built Samsung Backstage on the Totara LMS using responsive/adaptive design, integrated product learning, competitions unlocked via audience‑based enrolment, community features, Open Badges (portable via Mozilla Backpack) and cross‑channel outreach (email, Facebook, Twitter). Results included a 35% increase in page views, an 85% rise in pages per visit year‑on‑year, 42% more active users and a 181% increase in course completions in the first month, plus positive feedback and a Best Totara Project — Retail award.
