How BAT optimized its outbound transportation network with 4flow

BAT is a global consumer goods company with over 50 manufacturing sites and nearly 800 warehouses, making transportation optimization critical. Faced with a complex outbound network and fragmented planning—relying on localized Excel sheets and SAP APO TLB with different tools for TLB and supply planners—BAT needed a standardized, scalable solution to eliminate data inconsistencies and improve load-planning efficiency.

4flow implemented the Kinaxis Transportation Load Optimizer (TLO) embedded in Kinaxis RapidResponse®, piloting outbound planning in the United States and creating a global rollout template that accommodates regional archetypes. The deployment delivered about three months of advance visibility, unified planners on a single platform (with ~90% of stock transport orders now triggered by the TLO), faster, more reliable schedules and improved truck utilization, with subsequent go-lives in Brazil and planned expansions to additional markets.
