Vertbaudet Brings Paid Search In-House and Boosts Sales with Kenshoo

Vertbaudet, a leading French online retailer of children’s fashion, maternity wear and toys with 40 years’ retail heritage and 64 stores, moved paid search in‑house at the start of 2016 to gain control of a strategic channel that supports thousands of seasonal SKUs. The key objectives were to increase orders without raising cost‑per‑acquisition (CPA), improve Google Shopping performance, and grow orders from new customers.

Working with Kenshoo, Vertbaudet automated and optimised bids across 200,000 keywords using Kenshoo Portfolio Optimizer, restructured and dedicated budgets to Google Shopping with PLA‑specific bid policies, used RLSA to retarget new prospects, mirrored campaigns to Bing, and applied predictive spend controls and cannibalisation reporting to improve efficiency. The result: traffic rose 30% and impressions 63% year‑on‑year (July–Dec 2016) while CPA stayed flat, with a 20% increase in orders from search, 16% more orders from new customers and a 12% decline in CPCs.
