Staples Canada ran a paid-search program to drive both online and in-store Copy & Print sales and to better understand which keywords and creative drove the most ROI. The retailer needed to identify high-performing keywords, optimize bids in real time, and uncover customer redemption patterns across channels.
Working with RevTrax (couponing) and Kenshoo (bid management), Staples delivered $10-off offers via printable, online and mobile coupons, then fed in-store redemption data back to Kenshoo to attribute sales to specific keywords and adjust bids/ad copy. The campaign produced strong results: 148% overall redemption gain (9% average weekly increase), 200% incremental ROI ($3 return per $1), an 11% drop in average CPC, two branded keywords driving over 50% of revenue, 71,142 landing-page views and 1.4M impressions.
