A KEMP Technologies Case Study
Kennet School, a state-of-the-art academy in Berkshire with over 1,800 pupils and 300 staff, needed to replace a slow legacy local authority email system and ensure high availability for a new Microsoft Exchange 2010 platform. To meet these challenges the school worked with KEMP Technologies and installed a pair of Kemp LoadMaster 2200 server load balancing appliances, certified for Exchange 2010, to provide the required performance and failover redundancy.
KEMP Technologies’ LoadMaster 2200 devices (deployed via partner System Professional) delivered load balancing, failover and improved Exchange services—Global Address Lists, Calendaring, Password Syncing and Delegated Access—leading to better communications, increased efficiency and resilient access for staff and pupils; the school’s FROG virtual learning environment was also fully integrated with Exchange 2010. The appliances were easy to manage and installed over a weekend, providing high performance and redundancy at a strong price/performance point (KEMP Technologies’ hardware starts just over £1,500), enabling the IT team to confidently roll out more Exchange applications.
