CloudX Services, the maker of the BIZSKYPE online telephony service, was experiencing unacceptable downtime and rising support calls as it scaled across multiple servers — DNS-based load balancing left users offline for more than 60 seconds. To address this, CloudX Services evaluated vendors and turned to KEMP Technologies, deploying Kemp 360 and Kemp Virtual LoadMasters to improve application delivery and resilience.
KEMP Technologies implemented its application delivery fabric (Kemp 360 Central and Virtual LoadMasters) with Metered Enterprise Licensing (MELA), enabling pay-as-you-grow consumption and rapid scaling. The solution cut failover time from over 60 seconds to about 14–19 seconds (roughly a 40-second improvement), allowed maintenance with no user impact, supported rapid customer growth (initial capacity to 200,000 users, scalable to 1 million), and reduced support calls while improving overall user experience.
