A KEMP Technologies Case Study
MidCoast Council, serving some 92,462 people across 10,000 km² with more than 900 employees in 70+ locations, faced peak‑load and latency problems from its Windows Network Load Balancing as it moved toward real‑time services like Skype for Business. Manager of Information and Communication Systems Nev Finch chose KEMP Technologies and its Virtual LoadMaster appliances to replace the limited NLB and better support critical services such as Exchange, SharePoint and ADFS.
KEMP Technologies deployed two Virtual LoadMaster 200 and two Virtual LoadMaster 2000 appliances (also replacing a Citrix NetScaler for reverse proxy across three web servers), with installation completed in a day and immediate performance and stability gains for 900+ users. The Kemp solution delivered measurable improvements in application experience and manageability, reduced interruptions, required only one support contact, and enabled plans for Geo Load Balancing and Kemp 360 to provide multi‑site resilience and hybrid‑cloud failover.
