Kemp's integration with Cisco helps SMA Solar achieve uptime goals

SMA Solar Technology, a global PV inverter manufacturer, needed high availability and better scalability for its critical manufacturing and web applications after Microsoft WNLB caused packet loss on virtualized systems due to hypervisor overload. To meet requirements for a solution that would work for both virtual and physical systems and fit into an existing Cisco UCS strategy, SMA evaluated and selected KEMP Technologies' LoadMaster ADC (LMOS) for deployment on Cisco UCS B‑Series servers.

KEMP Technologies implemented the LoadMaster ADC on SMA’s UCS platform, delivering seamless integration, faster response times and predictable communication paths, and enabling greater virtualization without adverse network effects. Installed in November 2013 and quickly moved to production, the solution provided improved scalability, performance and lower administrative overhead, with SMA expecting all web applications to be migrated to KEMP LoadMasters by mid‑2014.
