A KEMP Technologies Case Study
Hill Dickinson International Law firm, an international legal practice with offices across the UK and abroad, needed to ensure high availability and resilience for its new Microsoft Exchange 2010 messaging platform because email is a business‑critical service. To meet this challenge it turned to KEMP Technologies, deploying KEMP’s LoadMaster appliances (LM2600 series) to provide reliable load balancing for Outlook and OWA across its centralized Exchange architecture.
KEMP Technologies supplied a pair of LM2600 units at the primary Liverpool data centre, an LM2600 at the secondary disaster recovery site (with full DR failover) and an LM2200 for the Test/Release environment; partner System Professional handled installation and testing. The solution delivered improved email uptime, allowed the live environment to be fully mimicked for testing, and extended the expected lifecycle from three years to over five; Hill Dickinson also started using the KEMP LoadMasters for Citrix and BigHand, and is integrating the units’ reporting into overall monitoring.
