Macmillan Cancer Support, a UK charity supporting thousands of people affected by cancer with more than 1,500 staff and volunteers and an IT estate of over 400 servers, needed to ensure fast, reliable Microsoft Exchange email for office and remote users. To address peak‑time congestion and provide high availability for Exchange 2010, the charity chose KEMP Technologies and its LM-2600 LoadMaster appliances.

KEMP Technologies deployed a pair of LM-2600 LoadMasters to load‑balance Exchange, automatically routing users to the best‑performing server and rerouting traffic if a server failed. The solution delivered faster responses and improved network uptime for 1,500+ users, removed congestion during peak periods, simplified setup and management, provided SSL offload, and enabled Macmillan to plan migration of CRM and finance systems onto the same appliances.
