A KEMP Technologies Case Study
Medialine, the Frankfurt-based hosting provider for the Elbphilharmonie ticketing system, needed to eliminate unacceptable latency and ticketing failures as online demand surged (over 30,000 simultaneous requests and more than 1 million tickets handled in 2017). To meet a strict SLA of not losing any event-related enquiries, Medialine selected KEMP Technologies and its Virtual LoadMaster (VLM) solution—ordering two Virtual LoadMaster 5000s for a fast, easy-to-deploy load‑balancing platform.
Medialine deployed the KEMP Technologies VLMs as an HA pair in its Hyper‑V environment to intelligently distribute traffic, redirect users from failing nodes, and enable rapid scaling across virtual servers. The KEMP VLMs removed ticketing disruptions during peak demand, sustained continuous uptime for the ticket portal (handling the 30,000+ daily peaks), met performance targets, and allowed Medialine to achieve its “no lost enquiries” SLA—delivering a seamless user experience and prompting plans to extend use of KEMP Technologies solutions.
