Infinite Campus gets a lesson in scalability with Kemp load balancers

Infinite Campus, a K–12 education software provider serving over 1,600 school districts and more than 4 million students, faced outages and inconsistent web traffic routing after a high‑cost brand-name load balancer failed and was discontinued. Seeking a supported, scalable hosted solution with SSL acceleration and high availability to protect student data and simplify technical support, Infinite Campus selected KEMP Technologies’ LoadMaster 1500 for trial.

KEMP Technologies deployed LoadMaster appliances (with a 20‑minute setup) to provide Layer 7 content switching, SSL offload, session persistence and fault tolerance, replacing the failing equipment and cutting support risks and costs (units were under $2,500 with one year of support). The result was reliable, cost‑effective scalability—more than 70 LoadMasters have been deployed to customers—enabling Infinite Campus to maintain consistent availability during rapid growth (58% last year and over 100% the year before) without infrastructure bottlenecks.
