Case Study: TrustFord achieves high availability and improved e‑commerce performance with KEMP Technologies

A KEMP Technologies Case Study

Preview of the TrustFord Case Study

Helping the Largest Ford Dealership go Virtual

TrustFord, the newly rebranded world’s largest dedicated Ford dealership, faced the challenge of delivering high availability and strong performance across a virtualised IT estate supporting over 80 sites, nearly 3,000 users and a growing e‑commerce operation. To meet this need during the TrustFord launch, the company selected KEMP Technologies virtual load balancers (KEMP VLM‑200) to provide resilient, scalable traffic management for its VMware 5.1 environment.

KEMP Technologies implemented four VLM‑200 virtual load balancers in two high‑availability pairs across TrustFord’s two datacentres, directing traffic based on concurrent connections, CPU and memory load and providing automatic failover. The deployment (live in June) delivered measurable benefits: support for some 80 virtual servers, throughput up to 200 Mbps per VLM, secure remote access for 350 managers without VPNs, improved user experience and easier management — plus cost savings from KEMP’s volume licensing and fast, template‑based implementation and support.
