Global Port Operator maximizes application performance with Kemp

Hutchison Ports EIT, the Ensenada terminal of Hutchison Ports in Mexico, needed a simple, high-performance load‑balancing solution to ensure 24/7 availability for mission‑critical internal applications—most notably the nGen terminal management system, which accounts for over 60% of the Hutchison Port Group’s throughput—across two VMware virtualized data centers. They selected KEMP Technologies’ Virtual LoadMaster for its VMware compatibility, performance and ease of use.

KEMP Technologies deployed a pair of Virtual LoadMasters in an Active/Passive HA configuration in front of nGen (running on WebLogic and RHEL), distributing traffic and offloading CPU/process‑intensive tasks to maintain service during failures. The solution delivered uniform, highly available application delivery and improved nGen performance, increased web application security and operational continuity, provided resiliency across operative and administrative data centers, and was praised for its simplicity of administration and cost effectiveness.
