Case Study: Galp Energia achieves robust security and scalable performance for its mobile app with KEMP Technologies

Galp - Kemp has allowed us to create a robust and effective security layer for our first mobile application with minimal configuration efforts

Galp Energia, Portugal’s integrated oil and natural gas group with operations in 14 countries and 1,367 service stations on the Iberian Peninsula, launched the Galp EvoDriver mobile app to help customers find stations, view fuel prices and redeem coupons. To support real-time maps and location data while protecting user security and privacy, Galp Energia needed load balancing and an application firewall in its Microsoft Azure environment and chose KEMP Technologies’ ADC Virtual LoadMaster 200 for Microsoft Azure.

KEMP Technologies deployed the Virtual LoadMaster 200 (VLM-200) to provide Layer 7 load balancing and a native web application firewall, supporting up to 256 virtual IPs, 1,000 real IPs, 200 SSL transactions/sec and 200 MB/s throughput. The solution delivered high availability, scalability and a robust security layer with minimal configuration; Galp Energia reports improved app reliability and security, strong cost-effectiveness and satisfaction with KEMP Technologies’ support and problem-solving during the project.
