Aptuit in Italy opts for an IT migration towards Microsoft Azure’s Cloud integrated with Kemp Technologies Virtual LoadMaster™

Aptuit, a pharmaceutical R&D services company with major operations in Verona, Italy, sought to simplify its IT estate for about 800 users by moving to Microsoft Azure to reduce vendor sprawl and management costs without increasing staff. Its existing environment relied on many physical servers and a VMware setup with no orchestration, costly housing contracts and slow change management — challenges addressed in the migration that included KEMP Technologies’ Virtual LoadMaster™.

The migration, led by Microsoft partner 4WARD, moved mail and Lync to Office 365, migrated SharePoint farms to Azure IaaS, implemented System Center Configuration Manager and deployed KEMP Technologies Virtual LoadMaster™ for Azure to provide Layer 4–7 load balancing and application delivery. The result was sustained high availability and improved disaster recovery for key apps, better SLAs and performance, rapid cost savings and a fast ROI — the project finished in six months and costs were recovered within the same fiscal year.
