Blue State Digital (BSD) is a digital agency that builds and grows communities for nonprofits, advocacy groups, and brands—best known for helping raise over $1 billion for Barack Obama’s campaigns and serving clients like Google, the NAACP, Team USA, and the Green Bay Packers. As BSD scaled, its operations were fragmented across Workfront and NetSuite OpenAir, forcing managers to stitch data together in Excel, which hurt data quality, real-time visibility, and the firm’s ability to make fast, informed decisions.
BSD consolidated project management, resource planning, project accounting, and BI onto Mavenlink, using Mavenlink Insights for real-time utilization and bandwidth dashboards. The move created a single source of truth for ~250 employees and contractors, eliminated manual reporting, improved data accuracy and agility, enabled faster, better decisions around resourcing and hiring, and reduced operating costs by replacing two systems—boosting profitability, retention, and revenue opportunities.
