Globosat, a major Brazilian pay TV operator, faced the challenge of needing to make faster programming decisions to attract more viewers against the competitive backdrop of the FIFA World Cup. To address this, they worked with Kantar to leverage their real-time data services.

Kantar provided its Real-Time Ratings service for Pay TV Channels, supplemented by social media insights from its Kantar Social TV Ratings tool. This data enabled Globosat to react and adjust its programming in real-time during the event. The impact was instant and significant, with the SPORTV channel reporting that its audience for games involving the Brazilian National team doubled in size compared to the previous World Cup.
