Hello bank!, the online direct bank of BNP Paribas operating across several European markets, faced low conversions on the first step of its account-creation funnel despite heavy traffic. After analyzing user behavior, the team identified poor information hierarchy and unclear value proposition as the main friction points and set out to increase validated requests and completed account openings. The experiment ran on desktop with 40,000 tested visitors, 6 variations and a 7‑day implementation.
Working with Uptilab and using Kameleoon, Hello bank! ran an A/B/n test of six landing-page variations that reshaped layout and copy—adding a warmer background image, emphasizing a triple incentive (€80 welcome, free Visa, no fees), and showing the account-creation process—while testing different wordings of the value proposition. Variation B, which presented key decision information as lists and moved the form to the right, won: validated requests rose +9.97% and completed account openings jumped +22.91%.
