Canal+, the French cable TV channel, wanted to increase the number of videos viewed from its homepage, recognizing the homepage as the main entry point that must meet visitor expectations. To do this they ran an A/B test on canalplus.fr (two redesigned variants plus the control), measuring click-through rate and video bounce rate with 60,000 visitors over a 15-day test.

Using Kameleoon’s advanced editor to add CSS/JS and reorganize four key homepage zones (carousel, “Top Videos,” “Don’t miss,” and “Canal+ Plus Points”), the redesign was implemented in seven days and tracked via Omniture and comScore. The winning variation boosted clicks on the tested zones by 28%, improving video discovery and showing the original drove more menu clicks—suggesting poorer findability—than the optimized versions.
