Auchan.fr, the online portal of French retailer Auchan with over 4.3 million monthly visitors and thousands of products across 30 categories, faced the challenge of increasing sales of discounted inventory while delivering a tailored experience for shoppers. The team aimed to boost the sales rate of discounted products and the click rate on promotions for visitors interested in childcare, kids, garden, and furniture.
Over a one-month analysis using Kameleoon, visitors were scored (+1 for category page/product views, +2 for adds-to-cart) to create four interest-based segments; each segment saw a contextualized discount banner on the homepage for a week. The personalized campaign lifted sales of discounted items by 2.5% versus generic offers and improved discount click-through by 16%.
