Alaska Airlines wanted to modernize international check-in by replacing airport counter and kiosk-based ID checks with a smoother self-service experience. The airline needed an ID verification solution that could integrate directly into its mobile app and web platforms to reduce lobby congestion and improve the travel experience, and it turned to Jumio for help.

Jumio implemented ID verification within the Alaska Airlines app, allowing guests to verify travel documents on their own before reaching the airport counter. The result was a faster, more efficient check-in process that minimized frustration for international travelers and saved time in the airport lobby and at the gate. Alaska Airlines also set a goal for 2025 of having at least 50% of guests use self-service ID verification, with Jumio expected to play a key role in reaching that target.
