Sotheby's moves artwork more efficiently with Atlassian

Sotheby's, the world’s largest art business and the oldest publicly traded company on the NYSE with 90 locations in 40 countries, handles billions in global sales and tens of thousands of artworks annually. Coordinating galleries, auction events and the secure movement of masterpieces across locations created a complex logistics and service-request challenge for its Facilities team.

To streamline operations Sotheby’s implemented Atlassian tools—primarily Jira Service Desk, supported by Jira Software, Confluence and Bitbucket—to manage and track service requests. The intuitive system ("If you can use Facebook, you can use Jira Service Desk," says Nathan Smith) made staff adoption easy and enabled Sotheby’s to move artwork faster and more efficiently.
