A Jira Software Case Study
Sony Music Publishing (SMP), the world’s largest music publisher administering over four million songs, faced a scaling challenge: its Global Copyright Administration team used email and basic Outlook automations to intake and manage publishing data from 35 global affiliates, which left processes hard to track, slow to scale, and lacking real‑time visibility as song volume and complexity grew.
Working with partner Trundl, SMP built the GCA Delivery Desk on Jira Service Management as an MVP and iterated with more than 200 automations and integrations. The new platform moved intake out of inboxes into forms, queues and dashboards, saving roughly 1,500 hours annually, improving transparency and reporting, enabling faster service for affiliates and songwriters, and driving two new headcount additions—while prompting broader adoption across the company.
