Qantas, Australia’s national carrier, needed to move away from email, spreadsheets and legacy communication tools and to share knowledge across engineering, IT and business teams. The airline adopted Jira and Confluence in 2011 and added Bitbucket five years later to standardize tools and create a single source of truth.
Using the integrated Atlassian suite, IT tracks projects in Jira and houses policy and governance in Confluence, while marketing runs campaigns in Jira and Creative Services/UX plan and co-edit site content, guides and FAQs in Confluence. The outcome is centralized documentation, real‑time collaboration, version tracking and streamlined cross‑team workflows.
