MYOB, a provider of business management and accounting tools for SMEs in Australia and New Zealand, faced planning and delivery challenges as its SME division grew to 450+ cross-functional staff across 30+ teams and seven domains with more than 1,000 technology projects. The team relied on Jira Software and Confluence but lacked a holistic, program-level view of work, dependencies, timelines and stakeholder updates, which led to silos and increased risk of missed milestones.
To solve this, the SME team piloted Advanced Roadmaps in Jira Software, building cross-functional plans, mapping dependencies, and embedding the roadmap view into their bi-weekly Vertical Wall Walk. The result was immediate end-to-end visibility, clearer priorities, faster risk identification, and stronger alignment across Product, Delivery, and Engineering—improving planning and delivery outcomes for customers and paving the way for wider rollout.
