JIRA Data Center helps Cerner scale into the future

Cerner, a Kansas City–based healthcare technology company serving more than 18,000 clinical facilities with 21,000 employees worldwide, needed to replace its homegrown issue-tracking system with a scalable, flexible solution that could meet the varied needs of many development teams.

Beginning in 2008 Cerner adopted Jira, centralized operations and customizations, and in October 2015 migrated to Jira Data Center to support an additional 10,000 users across an environment with about 1.5M issues, 3M comments and 1,500 projects. With guidance from an Atlassian Technical Account Manager and regular upgrades, Cerner reduced outages from 55 in 2014 to seven in 2015 and expects further improvements with Data Center.
