Case Study: KodaCloud achieves unified cross-team planning and faster releases with Jira Software (Portfolio for Jira)

A Jira Software Case Study

How KodaCloud moved off Excel and onto Portfolio for Jira

KodaCloud is an AI-driven cloud service that monitors and optimizes enterprise Wi‑Fi, and its Director of Engineering, Hubert Sugeng, needed to coordinate work across four engineering teams. Relying on Jira alone left him without a clear, higher‑level view of scope and releases, so he resorted to Excel exports and sticky notes—approaches that were slow, error‑prone, and made planning beyond one or two sprints difficult.

Hubert adopted Portfolio for Jira to create a single, editable plan that pulls in boards, projects, and releases; he uses the Scope table, Release report, and capacity views to prioritize epics, verify release contents, and shift work as needed. The result: faster, more accurate release planning, better cross‑functional alignment (sales, QA, leadership), fewer status meetings and manual updates, and the ability to show and adjust plans live with stakeholders.
