Klarna, the Stockholm-based payments company simplifying online checkout, faced messy internal planning: project teams relied on a waterfall mix of Smartsheet, Excel, Google Docs and Jira, and many project managers lacked agile experience. Working with Atlassian partner Riada, Klarna adopted Advanced Roadmaps in Jira Software Premium to unify long-term planning with agile execution. The tool provided visual timelines, scenario modeling, and a single source of truth shared with stakeholders, improving cross-team and cross-product planning, capacity forecasting, and meeting efficiency — launches occurred close to roadmap dates and planning became more structured, traceable, and transparent.
