First American Bank - Customer Case Study

First American Bank of Norman, OK (assets $315 million) faced recurring severe storms, tornadoes and power outages that threatened its ability to serve customers and protect staff and data. To strengthen business continuity with a people-focused approach, First American Bank engaged Jack Henry Banking’s Centurion Mock Disaster Drill to test plans, communications and role assignments across departments.

Jack Henry Banking ran an on-site Centurion Mock Disaster Drill with about 26 managers (roughly 20% of staff) to rehearse primary/secondary responsibilities and human-centered response actions. Within days real tornadoes struck the bank’s service area and the team executed the plan—safely sheltering people, opening a Sunday drive‑thru for four hours (two employees), coordinating generators and logistics, and helping organize a community fundraiser that raised more than $6,000. The drill accelerated recovery, improved communications, clarified roles, and led First American to adopt departmental “mini‑drills” and refine its business continuity plan.
